• THE DREAM

The dream to start a life-giving church in Swift Current started all the way back in March 2023 while we were visiting a church in California. During that visit, God placed a call on our hearts to plant a church. In the months that followed, God put a burden on our hearts for the city of Swift Current - Alanna's hometown - as the place to plant the church.

Through these months of fasting, praying, and seeking wisdom and counsel from spiritual leaders in our lives, God has continued to increase the joy and excitement for the church plant. With every visit back, our hearts grow for the people in this city who need to experience a life-giving relationship with God.

  • THE CITY

    SWIFT CURRENT, SK

Only 30% of Swift Current residents identify with a Christian faith.

Crime Rate is 34% higher than the national average.

One of the biggest crises in the city is the alarming growth of the youth drug scene.

  • Why Plant a Church?

    The Opportunity IS GREAT

    • New churches attract non-churched people on average of about 3-6 times more than older churches. Only one in 10 new members of churches over 15 years old are people who were not Christians or not churched previously, while in new churches it is one in 3 or even 2 out of 3.

    • New churches are the best way to renew the older, existing churches. New churches attract and produce more converts, leaders, and givers, many of which find their ways into the other churches of the city.

    PARTNERSHIP WITH ARC CANADA

Encounter Church is being planted in partnership with ARC Canada, a network dedicated to launching and supporting life-giving churches across the nation and the world. We’re grateful to be coached and supported by the Association of Related Churches and their vision to see communities transformed by the message of Jesus.
